Riverdale Grade School fields formal, competitive athletic teams for students at grades 6-8. There truly is something for everyone: boys' and girls' soccer and girls' volleyball in the Fall, boys' and girls' basketball in the Winter, and co-ed track and field in the Spring (5th graders may participate in track). In addition, Springtime lacrosse is offered as a club sport. Our philosophy is that, in these formative years, the emphasis is most appropriately placed on learning the skills associated with the sport, and the value of teamwork and dedication to a common cause. We do not try out for teams; our athletic teams are a part of a come-as-you-are program designed to expose all students to the thrill of self-improvement through physical exercise and competition. Students compete with athletes from other area schools.
