Riverdale School District Foundation:
our mission is to cultivate and ensure educational excellence

Riverdale School District Foundation
P.O. Box 69015
Portland, Oregon 97239

The Riverdale School District Foundation was created to address the significant gap between available funding from State and Local Option revenues and the annual operating budget of the District.

This 501(c)(3) non-profit solicits tax deductible contributions from school families, community members, alumni, district staff and others to support Riverdale education by making periodic distributions to the school district.

Funds raised from our Annual Campaigns provide for differentiated instruction and a breadth of programming that has set the standard for exceptional education in Oregon. Excellence in education has been highly valued by this neighborhood for over 100 years.

Since 1993, the Foundation's Annual Campaigns have raised close to $13 million to benefit Riverdale Schools. Last year, funds provided by generous parents, grandparents, alumni, staff, and neighborhood residents covered 11% of the District's operating budget.

This Fall, the Foundation launched the 2011-2012 Annual Campaign. Our goal this year is to raise $1 million. Equally important, we wish to increase participation levels among all groups of donors. In particular, we seek to have 100% of our families with students in the schools participate this year. Suggested giving levels for parents are $3,000 per student for resident and transfer families, and $500 per student for tuition paying families. Suggested giving level for community members without children in the schools is $500 per household.

The Annual Campaign is the first priority of the Riverdale School District Foundation, and we encourage everyone associated with Riverdale Schools, directly or indirectly, to make Annual Campaign giving their first priority as well.

We encourage you to contact anyone listed on the Foundation's Board of Directors to learn more about how you can help maintain and build upon the exceptional education in our schools.
