Welcome to Riverdale High School!
Dear Current & Prospective Riverdale Families,
At Riverdale High School we seek to educate students across a broad
range of topics, concepts and ideas. They leave with evidence of what draws them, excites them, makes them want to work hard – they know what they love. Our honors program, electives and enrichment opportunities allow them to know what they excel at. Our commitment to civics-rich curricula and our requirement that students complete 90 hours of service during their high school years, gives us the confidence they leave high school facing the rest of their future knowing what needs to be done in the world.
We offer a challenging academic program with a difference. At Riverdale High School intellectual inquiry is active, learning is interactive, the disciplines are interrelated, and analysis and creativity thrive simultaneously.
Riverdale High School is a small public high school serving students from within and outside our small school district. Riverdale High School opened its doors in 1996 and moved into our state-of-the art building in August 2002. Riverdale High School has grown to a student body in the mid-200's, with a maximum size of 300 students.
We have a unique educational option for your teenager. In these days of national concerns over the way our young people are being prepared for their adult lives it is a privilege to be able to provide with integrity something we believe in. We offer small classes, a challenging college preparatory curriculum and personal attention delivered by a talented, enthusiastic faculty.
By providing an atmosphere of intellectual, artistic and physical challenge within the warmth of a nurturing community, we develop in our students the confidence and skills required to meet the complexities of the future.
The best ways to learn about our school are to review our web site and to visit us, shadow a student and/or attend an Open House. Please contact Hilary Chandler, Admissions Coordinator to schedule your visit.
Warmly,
Paula Robinson
Principal
